What do employees say is the most important trait for a company leader to have?
Honesty
According to a recent survey of US employees conducted by Right Management Consultants, 24% of workers cited honesty as the most important trait for a leader of their company to possess.
Integrity and ethics came in second at 16%.
Caring and compassion, fairness, and having a good relationship with employees each ranked less than 10%.
Older workers tend to value honesty more than younger workers. Of respondants age 55-64, 38% rated honesty as the most important trait, compared to 16% of employees ages 18-34.
